About The PR Fellow
Ken Hagihara, APR, Fellow PRSA, MCM, is the founder of Integrity Public Relations, Inc., a full-service public relations agency that provides a comprehensive portfolio of research-based strategic public relations services for organizations in the technology and nonprofit industries.
Ken is a lecturer at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), where he teaches courses in advanced public relations writing, public relations campaigns, and social media for public relations, and is an advisor for PRactical ADvantage Communications, the college's student-run integrated marketing agency. He also serves as the national faculty advisor for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), and faculty adviser for the CSUF chapter.
He currently serves on the boards for the Battleship IOWA Museum, National Museum of the Surface Navy, and PRSA Educators Academy, and serves as a committee chair for the Los Angeles Fleet Week Foundation. Ken also serves on the Universal Accreditation Board as the committee chair for the Certificate in the Principles of Public Relations program.
A long-standing member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Ken holds the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and is a member of the prestigious PRSA College of Fellows. He recently received the Distinguished Service Award by the Orange County Chapter of PRSA and a 2023 PRSA Bronze Anvil Award of Commendation. He was named a finalist for 2021 Outstanding Educator of the Year by PRNews.
Ken's career in the public relations field began as a collateral duty public affairs officer in the California Air National Guard. He retired from the United States Navy Reserve after serving the second half of his 24-year military career attaining the rank of lieutenant commander as a Navy public affairs officer. Prior to starting Integrity Public Relations, Ken served as a senior public information representative for the University of California, Irvine, and senior account executive for a technology public relations agency in Newport Beach, California.
Ken holds a bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in public relations from California State University, Fullerton, and a masters in Communication Management from the Annenberg School of Communications and Journalism from the University of Southern California. He is a member of Pi Lambda Theta, one of the nation's most prestigious education honor societies.
